Funding Webinar: Propelling Critical Minerals and Materials in Canada's EV Value Chain

NGen Canada is looking to co-invest up to $95 million, together with industry, in collaborative, transformative, business-led projects through the Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Value Chain Program (EVMP). The call-for-projects targets the scale-up and commercialization of  transformative, made-in-Canada manufacturing technologies and capabilities across Canada's EV value chains - from the processing and refining of critical minerals, to the manufacturing of battery, magnetic, semiconductor and light-weighting materials & components. The deadline for Expression of Interest is October 11 at 5 pm ET.   On August 22, 2023, NGen Canada, Canadian Critical Minerals and Materials Alliance (C2M2A), Battery Metals Association of Canada (BMAC), and Accelerate ZEV will be co-hosting a webinar for critical minerals and materials companies. We cordially invite you to join us to learn more about, •    NGen’s EVMP  program, and how companies can take advantage of the funding opportunity. •    Initiatives and services provided by C2M2A,  BMAC, and Accelerate ZEV to grow Canada's critical minerals and materials supply chain.   Critical minerals and materials are fundamental to our transition to a low-carbon economy, and to developing a robust and vertically integrated battery and EV value chain in Canada. However, bottlenecks exist globally in midstream operations, to transform the minerals into materials with high purity levels that are suitable for use in battery-grade products and other EV-related technologies. The next 5 years will be critical for Canada’s participation in the global EV market. There is a window of opportunity for Canada to invest, commercialize, and deploy domestic processing,  refining, and other value-added capabilities.      About the partners:   NGen Canada NGen is the industry-led, non-profit organization leading Canada’s Global Innovation Cluster for Advanced Manufacturing. We are founded on the principle that digital transformation in advanced manufacturing will enrich the lives of Canadians, delivering better products and good jobs while generating the economic growth essential to a better future.   C2M2A  The Canadian Critical Minerals and Materials Alliance (C2M2A) is an industry advocacy organization whose goal is to accelerate the production of value added materials building on Canada’s critical mineral wealth. By elevating the voice of industry through its members, C2M2A is diversifying Canada’s economy, fostering job creation and providing economically-viable and sustainably produced materials demanded for a global energy transition   BMAC The Battery Metals Association of Canada (BMAC) is a trade organization of entrepreneurs, explorers, developers and producers of battery metals and materials, who have joined together to support a rapidly changing energy landscape. What we share is a desire to develop battery metals resources and to incorporate these materials into a battery production stream. As a national non-profit association, BMAC will lead the effort to ensure Canada fully captures the abundant economic potential of its massive resources through the responsible and sustainable growth of Canada’s battery metals supply chain.   Accelerate ZEV Accelerate is Canada’s industrial alliance of key actors from mining, batteries, fuel cells, R&D, the public sector, Indigenous interests, labour, vehicle manufacturing and infrastructure. Together, we are building Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle supply chain and industry to ensure it is a central part of Canada’s future wealth and prosperity.
